The Haru Invest platform was created in November of 2020 to provide virtual asset deposit and investment management services to users.  Haru customers entrusted their virtual assets to Haru Management Limited (the "Debtor"), who then forward those assets to Haru United Pte. Ltd. to manage.

A significant portion of Haru customers' virtual assets were deposited with the U.S. FTX exchange.  The U.S. Chapter 11 bankruptcy of FTX Trading Ltd. made returning assets to customers difficult for the Debtor.

As a result, on June 13, 2023, withdrawal restrictions were imposed on Haru Invest service users, and related operations were suspended.  Subsequently, approximately 120 creditors of the Debtor applied for rehabilitation proceedings on September 21, 2023.   After this was dismissed, they filed for bankruptcy on April 12, 2024.  The court declared bankruptcy against the Debtor on November 20, 2024, and appointed  Lee Wangmin of the law firm D& LLC as the bankruptcy trustee.
